Legal Practice Assistant (Part-Time; 0.25 FTE)

Job Description

Seeking a reliable, diligent, and organized assistant who will be responsible for providing clerical, administrative, and client support. This person will work closely with the founding attorney to maintain an efficient and responsive practice as it grows. The position is ideal for anyone available to work in person in Northfield a few mornings a week. Pay is $30/hour for approximately 8-10 hours per week. This is an immediate opening.


Responsibilities

  • Perform general office duties such as filing, scanning, and photocopying

  • Prepare letters and estate planning binders

  • Gather information, maintain files, and manage correspondence

  • Maintain the attorney calendar

  • Inventory and procure supplies

  • Help to document and automate the client service process

  • Handle invoicing and receipts

  • Communicate with clients and prospective clients in a friendly and professional manner


Requirements

  • Provide great service and treat everyone with kindness, empathy, and respect

  • Understand and follow an intricate process with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Actively anticipate needs, identify areas of improvement, and propose solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading

  • Highly proficient in MS Office; comfortable learning new tools and figuring out technology

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

  • Professionalism in maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Work effectively in a casual micro-office environment, staying focused on the mission
